FAQs
Q: What electrical loads can Ultra eco be used with? A: All electrical loads are suitable for Ultra eco. Ultra eco has the highest energy saving potential on variable inductive loads.
Q: Can Ultra eco be used on AC and DC currents? A: No. AC currents only.
Q: Can Ultra eco be used in conjunction with UPS? A: Yes. If the UPS operates through a DC link, Ultra eco should be connected downstream of the UPS.
Q: Can Ultra eco be used with aluminium and copper conductors? A: Yes.
Q: Will Ultra eco work with a Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS), fluorescent lighting, variable speed drives on motors, direct on line motors and wye-delta motor starts? A: Yes. It is important Ultra eco is connected in the correct place to deliver the optimum level of savings.
Q: Is Ultra eco voltage optimisation? A: No. Ultra eco does not affect the voltage within the circuit.
Q: Is Ultra eco power factor correction? A: No. Ultra eco may marginally improve the power factor of the load but it is not its primary function merely an additional benefit.
Q: What size load can Ultra eco be used with? A: Ultra eco can be used with any size of low voltage load. With 14 model sizes Ultra eco can be installed in single or multiple units to suit the sites operational requirements. There is no maximum or minimum load.
Q: Where should Ultra eco be connected on a circuit? A: Ultra eco can be connected anywhere on the circuit. Installations are targeted to suit general and large inductive and variable loads. This may be achieved by connecting Ultra eco to the main distribution board or multiple units being dispersed throughout the circuit.
Q: What maintenance is required to Ultra eco? A: None. Ultra eco has no electrical circuits, no electronics or moving parts. Although Ultra eco does not require any maintenance we recommend that periodic checks are made to ensure that no damage has been caused to the unit.
Q: What is the life expectancy of an Ultra eco unit? A: 15 years.
Q: Does Ultra eco have a manufacturer's warranty? A: Yes. Ultra eco is provided with a 3 year manufacturer's warranty.
Q: Will Ultra eco conflict with a Residual Current Circuit Device (RCCD)? A: No. Ultra eco will not affect the operation of a RCCD.
