Blue Carbon opens European HQ in Brighton

16th September 2011

Energy reduction company Blue Carbon officially opened its European headquarters on Friday with Simon Kirby, the Brighton Kemptown MP, doing the honours.

TV presenter Oliver Heath and Hove MP Mike Weatherley were also on hand to celebrate the creation of 14 jobs this year by the company – 11 of them in Brighton.

Blue Carbon helps businesses cut their electricity consumption, reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy bills using the innovative Ultra eco Electrical Current Optimisation™ technology.

Chief executive Darren Trussell said: “We have started to discuss and formalise plans with our manufacturing partner in South Korea to roll out the product across Europe with Brighton being our European HQ.”

He hopes the planned European expansion will create up to 30 more jobs.

Mr Kirby said: “Our country and our economy face many challenges – growth, jobs and carbon reduction. To tackle these problems, we need companies like Blue Carbon to make their vital contribution.”

Blue Carbon is taking part in the Energy Solutions exhibition at London Olympia on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 October.
